First of all the good -
1) Justin and I went out a few times while the Grandparents babysit so that was nice. We went to dinner and did some shopping at Downtown Disney and had awesome seats for their Cirque De Sole show.
2) Joshua did very well on the plane both trips. His ears hurt on the landing but that was it. He was good otherwise.
3) Aiden's favorite ride was Buzz Lightyear - he had a temper tantrum coming off of it because it was so fun. Joshua liked other rides like Peter Pan and Whinnie the Pooh. They both liked the Safari ride at Animal Kingdom and they both enjoyed the Lion King Show. They enjoyed feeding the ducks at the resort and playing on the playground. We took them on a ferry ride, the monorail and boat ride at Magic Kingdom and a train ride. They enjoyed them all. They also liked the trolley that you rode to and from your car. Joshua REALLY enjoyed meeting all the characters. He was shy at first but warmed up to it and wanted to stand in line and see them all. Aiden was pretty scared but they both enjoyed the parades at the different parks and getting ice cream. We ate pretty terribly. Lessons learned is to pack better snacks and lunches.
4) Aiden did well on the plane ride home thanks to this nice lady in front of us that loaned us her dvd player.
5) The condo was nice for the most part and wasn't too far from the parks.
6) We got upgraded to United Economy plus coming home so that was nice!
7) The boys got to pick 1 toy and they picked the 'big' Buzz Lightyear outside the ride. They have been playing and sleeping with him every sense. Justin and I bought Joshua a big stuffed pluto that he is also sleeping with and Aiden a big stuffed Mickey Mouse although Mickey gets kicked out of the bed at night.
The Bad
1) Aiden was a bad boy flying out to Disney World. He kept kicking the old man's seat in front of us. I tried to keep him entertained but he wasn't having it. He had a melt down on the way there in the last 30 minutes and I felt like melting down myself.
2) At our hotel, there were a group of 4 younger guys partying in the hotel room next to us. After about 3 nights of that, I had to call security twice to get them to quiet down.
3) Joshua came down with a cold and high fever during our trip. Sunday was his worse day.
4) The food options weren't so good - we should have planned our meals better while being there especially on the really long days.
5) Aiden caught a weird stomach bug or something he ate upset his stomach terribly - please see 'the Ugly' for more information.
6) Traveling in general with young kids is tough and we're pretty worn out. Not used to all the crowds and waiting in line that you do at these places. But its worth seeing the boys have fun.
7) I almost lost my favorite sun glasses on the Buzz Lightyear ride - the workers later found them. And most importantly, we almost lost Aiden's 'brown' blankie - his favorite = he dropped him while Joshua and I were seeing the characters at Epcot. Luckily, when we went back for him, the workers there found it!
8) The resort had lots of neat pools, actually attracted me to the place but due to the cold weather in the beginning of our trip then with the boys getting sick, we never did make it to the pool.
9) The money spent on this trip was alot... the rental car, the plane tickets, the food and resort was alot... I didn't do much shopping, guess that's a good thing, ha! But it was still fun to go and experience it with the kids.
10) It is sort of funny now but after the stress of dealing with Aiden on the trip out to Disney World, we had some 'extra' stress with the rental car. Justin had ordered a Full size car thinking that should be big enough but after we decided to bring 3 huge suitcases, a stroller and 1 carryon bag with us... it wouldn't all fit. So, Justin had to carry a suitcase on his lap on the way to the hotel since he didn't want to bother upgrading given that we had already gotten the boys in their car seats and they were screaming to go to Disney World.
The Ugly
1) Aiden's bum is the ugly part... his poor little stomach problems started on Saturday and we're still trying to help him get over it. The messy diapers were hard to deal with and he had such bad diaper rash = we felt so bad for him...Also felt bad for the cleaning lady who to clean up after us with all the dirty dishes and diapers, etc.
Here are a few pictures to start us off... more to come.
