Summer Beach trip to Rehoboth Beach, DE

This is probably my last blog for the summer season as we're starting to get ready for football season, start of kindergarten, etc.  but I'm ending it with our trip to Rehoboth Beach, DE.  We went with the Tydlacka Family.  Neither family had ever been but it's definitely a place to go with kids!  There was lots to do there - the boys loved the beach as always especially jumping the waves and digging for crabs, (Aiden loved getting lots of snacks on the beach), waterpark,  the Boardwalk where there are restaurants, bars, ice cream, snow cone places and the best - games for kids and rides for kids!  They loved the rides and games almost too much.  Aiden (and even Joshua) had a few meltdowns leaving the area.  The weather was wonderful actually - nice breezes on the beach and it wasn't 100 degrees, we were really lucky.  The Daddys went out a few nights to play poker and even the Mommys went out 1 night for poker.  It was an exhuasting week especially being 19 weeks pregnant but most weeks that are fun are usually exhausting!
Well - that about sums up the trip but enjoy the pictures!

Aiden loved this stop sign - asked me 'what does that sign say Momma' every time we walked by it

Joshua enjoyed the swings - an old favorite of mine

Update on Aiden - Summer 2011

Aiden also weighs 43 pounds but is about 9 inches shorter then Joshua. He's still a big boy compared to some of his friends. People forget how young he is.  We're still potty training. He's doing better but we're definitely not out of the woods yet!  His favorite thing is to sit on his potty for #2 while playing on Justin's iphone.  We are in the middle of the terrible 3's.  Seem to have more attitude and outbursts then before.  He's got quite the potty mouth as well with making comments about poopy butt, etc. He thinks he's quite the joker with this talk.
He's about to embark on a new school as well. We decided to move him closer to home to make the commuting easier now that Justin's office moved.  It's more expensive but still a highly rated daycare.  We've visited once but the real test will be this week when we drop him off. It may take some getting use to but eventually he will do well there.  He's still obsessed with Dora, Dino Dan (Dimo Dam as Aiden says it), watching many shows actually.  Joshua can be distracted into doing other things like crafts, coloring and workbooks, etc. but Aiden is a bit harder to distract from tv watching.  He really likes the jumpy place - aka Jumpin Jack Sports... His favorite game right now is Hullabaloo - he loves playing that either by himself or with others.  He loved his music class at his current daycare so we hope that he gets the same experience at his new place. His favorite instrument was the drums.  His favorite book at home is this Alaska book that has many different animal sounds that Grandma brought back from her cruise, 1-2-3 book and The mouse and the big hungry bear/strawberry book (I forget the title), and good night moon. He can almost read the entire book back to you actually.
Enjoy the pictures of Aiden! Oh and Aiden hates getting his haircut so I've been trimming the bangs in the front - why his hair looks long in these pics!

Update on Joshua - summer 2011

Joshua weighs about 43 pounds and is about 44 inches tall.  He is really starting to grow up and mature more. He cries less and whines less so that's pretty nice! We tried to get him to play soccer again this past year but that didn't go well. He claims he wants to play tball so we'll see. We might sign him up for the Fall. We actually want him to start taking swimming lessons. He seems to be less afraid of the water so we thought it might be time for that so we shall see.
He really enjoys riding his scooter outside although the hot summer kept us indoors alot.  His latest craze is building legos and he's quite good at it.  For his birthday, we celebrated at Jumpin Jack Sports and he received alot of great gifts including a few lego sets. He enjoys watching lots of different shows but at night, he likes to watch 'How it's made' with Daddy.  He really enjoys some of the adult educational shows, which is nice for us.  We can only watch so many Dora or Jake and the Pirate episodes.  He had a good summer playing with friends and family, going to birthday parties and taking some trips.
We're getting geared up for the Fall - some cooler weather and the start of our newest adventure - Kindergarten! Joshua will be AM Kindergarten and then will ride a bus over to Golden Pond School for the rest of the day.  I'm not used to having him go somewhere every day but this school is highly rated and I think he will really enjoy it and learn alot.
Enjoy some photos of Joshua taken over the last few months...
